Itinerary
Today marks our arrival in Kathmandu, a bustling city steeped in history and vibrant culture.For those embarking on an extensive voyage or traversing multiple time zones en route to Nepal, we highly recommend arriving in Kathmandu a day or two prior. This allows for a graceful adjustment period for your body and ensures that any potential flight delays or luggage mishaps do not disrupt the seamless flow of our expedition. We will begin by unpacking our bikes, ensuring they're ready for our upcoming adventures. Once we've taken care of that, we'll have the opportunity to gather for a meet-and-greet dinner. This will provide us with a chance to get acquainted with one another, discuss our plans, and perhaps even share some excitement and anticipation for the journey ahead. It's a great way to kick off our expedition on a positive note and establish connections within our group.
We'll kick off our day with a journey that takes us on a scenic drive of approximately an hour from Kathmandu to Nagarkot, nestled at an elevation of 2,100 meters (6,890 feet). Upon reaching Nagarkot, we'll embark on an exhilarating enduro riding , accompanied by shuttle services to maximize our exploration. These trails, once ancient footpaths, have evolved into thrilling mountain biking tracks frequented by locals. The descent promises a thrilling blend of speed and fluidity as we traverse through lush pine forests and pass by quaint local dwellings. It has about four to five long trails. Notably, Nagarkot is renowned for hosting events such as the Asian Enduro. Our day is dedicated to the joy of full day riding. As the sun begins its descent, we'll journey back to Kathmandu, where an evening awaits filled with delicious cuisine to refuel our body.
Following breakfast, we bid farewell to our hotel in Kathmandu and embark on the next leg of our journey. We drive to the airport, where we board a brief 25-minute flight bound for Pokhara. Nestled at the foot of the majestic Annapurna Himalayas, Pokhara beckons with its serene lakeside setting and laid-back ambiance. Today we retire to the comfort of Lakeside, where we unwind and immerse ourselves in the enchanting atmosphere of this lakeside haven. Here, amidst the serene surroundings, we rest, rejuvenate, and prepare for the adventures that await us in the days ahead.
We rise with the first light of dawn as we prepare to depart for the airport. A short 22-minute flight transports us from Pokhara to the remote enclave of Jomsom, elevation 2,710 meters (8,891 feet), nestled deep within the heart of the Himalayas. Peering out of the plane's windows, we're treated to unparalleled views of the towering Dhaulagiri and beyond. The flight itself is an adventure, as the aircraft navigates between the colossal peaks, offering an up-close encounter with the grandeur of the Himalayan giants. Touching down in Jomsom, we're greeted by the crisp mountain air and the promise of exhilarating adventures ahead. We gather for breakfast and then we unpack our bikes. With our gear in order, we embark on a leisurely acclimatization ride spanning 14 kilometers to the enchanting Tibetan village of Kagbeni,elevation 2,800 meters (9,186 feet). The route, mostly flat and paralleling the meandering Kaligandaki River, offers a tranquil immersion into the rugged beauty of the Himalayan landscape. Upon reaching Kagbeni, we're greeted by the timeless charm of this ancient village, its labyrinthine alleyways and whitewashed buildings a testament to its rich heritage. Here, amidst the serenity of the Himalayan foothills, we pause to savor the moment, knowing that our journey into the heart of this mythical land has only just begun.
Today marks the beginning of a new chapter as we transition from leisure to challenge. With a determined spirit, we rise early for a nourishing breakfast, fortifying ourselves for the journey ahead. Our destination: Muktinath, situated at an impressive altitude of 3,760 meters (12,336 feet). The ascent is rigorous, predominantly uphill, encompassing a mix of steep inclines and gradual ascents. Yet, amidst the physical exertion, we're rewarded with stunning landscapes. Along the way, you'll encounter breathtaking views of the Himalayas and picturesque villages nestled in the mountains along the way. Upon reaching Muktinath, we pause to replenish our energy with a well-deserved lunch, soaking in the serene ambiance of this sacred site. The air may be thin at this altitude, but it's the unparalleled beauty of the surroundings that truly leaves us breathless. Amidst the photo-worthy moments, we marvel at the sheer magnificence of the landscape stretching before us. But the true highlight awaits as we prepare to descend, what can only be described as one of the most thrilling mountain bike descents in the world. With adrenaline coursing through our veins, we embark on a thrilling single dusty track loose descent with a bit of switchbacks to test our agility. No matter your skill level, the descent will undoubtedly be one of the most scenic you've experienced. As the sun dips below the horizon, casting a golden glow over the landscape, we arrive at our resting place for the night.Thini, nestled at an elevation of 3,000 meters (9,842 feet). Here, amidst the tranquil embrace of the mountains as we gather for some local meal prepared by our homestay family.
With the dawn, we greet another day of adventure with an early breakfast. Our journey leads us to the enchanting Chayma Lake, a picturesque gem nestled amidst towering mountains and verdant landscapes. As we pedal along, the scenery unfolds in a mesmerizing panorama, with majestic peaks and serene lakes providing a breathtaking backdrop to our ride. The ride typically takes about 4 to 5 hours to Chayma Lake. Its crystalline waters reflecting the azure skies above, offers a tranquil respite, a moment of serenity amidst the rugged beauty of the Himalayas. Having immersed ourselves in the tranquility of Chayma Lake, we embark on descending. These trails are old walking paths which pass their way through pristine wilderness, offering a pretty sick ride through untamed terrain. As the sun begins its descent, casting a golden glow over the landscape, we arrive at our accommodation
Today presents us with perhaps our most demanding challenge yet. We set our sights on ascending to an impressive altitude of 4,000 meters (13,123 feet) if time and energy permits, we can even try up to 4500 meters(14,763 feet). In this remote wilderness, sustenance is scarce, and we must carry with us the provisions needed to sustain our journey—food and water become our lifelines, essential companions on our ascent. Yet, as we embark on this formidable endeavor, we must prioritize our well-being above all else. While reaching the lofty altitude of 4000 meters (13,123 feet) is our aspiration, we remain mindful of the delicate balance between ambition and safety. Our health takes precedence, and we recognize that even achieving an elevation of 4000m (13,123 feet) meters marks a significant accomplishment in itself. In this pursuit, there is no competition, no race against time or each other. Instead, we strive to give our best efforts while honoring the natural rhythm of our bodies and the unpredictable whims of the mountains. Each step forward is a testament to our resilience, a testament to the indomitable spirit that propels us onward. As we reach the top we enjoy all the hard work with a long descent to our accommodation. And when night falls, we find solace in the familiar comforts of Thini.
With the challenging uphill behind us, today promises a thrilling reward as we descend back down the mountainside. We begin our descent through a tapestry of ancient villages, their timeless charm reflected in winding alleyways and terraced fields. Passing by fragrant apple orchards, we're enveloped in the sweet aroma of ripening fruit, a tantalizing reminder of the abundance of nature in these remote reaches. As we delve deeper into the wilderness, the trail transforms into pristine forest singletrack, weaving its way through the heart of the Himalayas. Alongside us flows the mighty Kali Gandaki River, a steadfast companion on our journey back to lower altitudes. Our path leads us to the Thakali village of Tukche, renowned for its hospitality and home to Nepal's most famous apple crumble. Here, amidst the warm embrace of the villagers, we pause for a well-deserved lunch, indulging in the delectable flavors of this renowned treat. Refueled and re-energised, we resume our descent, tracing the meandering course of the Kali Gandaki River through undulating singletrack. Each twist and turn offers a new perspective on the rugged beauty of the landscape, a reminder of the boundless wonders that await around every corner. Our journey culminates in Kalopani, the designated exit of the Lower Mustang Valley, where we settle in for the night, surrounded by the tranquility of the mountains.
Today begins with a thrilling descent through a beautiful pine forest singletrack. As we navigate the winding trails,! The route ahead presents a perfect blend of dirt roads and cobbled village trails, each turn revealing new delights as children cheer us on from the sidelines. This leg of our journey is a true highlight of our Nepal trip, a testament to the joy of exploration and the camaraderie of shared adventure. For 2.5 exhilarating hours, we embark on a non-stop descent covering 24 kilometers, the wind rushing past us as we soak in the sheer thrill of the ride. Our destination for lunch is Tatopani. we'll conclude by indulging in a rejuvenating soak in natural hot springs followed by a delightful lunch. With renewed energy, we continue our journey, swooping and shredding through the landscape. Finally, we arrive at the town of Beni, where it's time to pack our bikes as we transfer back to the comforts of our Pokhara hotel.

We'll take the opportunity to explore the beauty of Pokhara at a leisurely pace, immersing ourselves in its enchanting surroundings. Our day begins with a leisurely breakfast. Few options such as enjoying a relaxing boat ride that offers breathtaking views of the surrounding mountains and lush landscapes. For those seeking relaxation and rejuvenation, it's time for a blissful spa day, where we'll indulge in pampering treatments that soothe both body and soul. As the day transitions into evening, we meet for celebrating our trip with few drinks and good times as we draw nearer to the end of our adventure
With a relaxed morning, we pack up our gear, taking our time to ensure nothing is left behind. Before we depart, we gather for a hearty brunch, fueling ourselves for the journey ahead. The journey unfolds about a 7 to 8 hours drive, offering us a glimpse of the countryside and the landscapes that define Nepal's rich tapestry. For those seeking a swifter return to Kathmandu, there is an optional flight back. This provides an opportunity to soar above the rugged terrain and arrive in the capital city with time to spare. As we traverse the winding roads back to Kathmandu, we're filled with a sense of gratitude for the experiences we've shared.
